When foot discomfort is more than a passing thing

Occasional soreness after a long day is common. But foot discomfort that lingers, returns regularly, or starts to affect how you walk, work or enjoy your day is worth paying attention to.
Heel pain (sometimes described as plantar fasciitis), arch discomfort, and aching feet can all interfere with daily activity. When discomfort persists, it's reasonable to consider talking to a professional.

An assessment can clarify what may be relevant

Foot pain can have different causes, and the right next step depends on what's contributing to it. An assessment may include discussing your symptoms, when they occur, your footwear and activities, and an appropriate examination of how your feet move.
From there, suitable options can be discussed — which may or may not include custom orthotics. Orthotics are one option among several, not a guaranteed solution for everyone.

When to seek care sooner

Some foot symptoms warrant more prompt attention — for example, pain following a significant injury, significant swelling, or changes that affect your ability to walk. If you're unsure whether to wait or to seek assessment, contacting the clinic can help you decide.
There's no need to wait until discomfort becomes severe. An earlier conversation can help you understand what's going on and what may help.

A note on this article. This article is general and educational, not individualized medical advice. Orthotics do not cure any condition and are not suitable for everyone. An assessment is the right way to consider whether orthotics or other care may be appropriate. Confirm current pricing and coverage with the clinic.
